Living Abroad - the words I heard the most

At the beginning of our America-adventure, I didn’t have any American or foreign friends. So I used to hear some English words only at grocery stores. Most people use those words: excuse me, sorry and thank you. These words are not common in my country between the people who don’t know each other. Nobody in my country does have a communication with foreign people, even if it is to say just ‘excuse me’ or etc. And nobody wants to look at any other person’s face who wasn’t known before. Nobody wants to say hi to that person, too. But Americans are different people about this subject. Maybe they find rude for not saying hi to each other. No matter who this is. As you read earlier, one of the words that I heard mostly is ‘hi / hello’. These are good words. As far as I understand, they care about greetings.

Sooner rather than later, I started to have an English course at Adult Learning Center. There are many foreign students there. And most of them told that they didn’t hear these words such as excuse me, thank you, and etc in their country, too. Especially, some of them are European. But they also didn’t hear in Europe. Guys! Did you hear these words in your country? Are these words common to speak between the people, even if they don’t know each other?
